  Live Performance "The Sun Song"


On a canvas composed of Jun Nishimura's laptop music, Peter Golightly's poetry and choreography, and Bun Itoh's atmospheric WarrGuitar, core redsleep members and their collaborators melt together into "The Sun Song", a tightly set yet highly improvised concert of visual and musical expression.
Sound, movement, projected images, poetry and lighting form the medium through which performers harmonize and some times collide. "The Sun Song" is an experimental collaboration, redsleep is a collective to follow.

Collectively formed by the core three artists; Peter Golightly, Jun Nishimura and Bun Ito, “redsleep” performs at various places such as gallery, theater, dancing clubs, etc. with various artists. The performance style is flexibly changed according to the programs.
     
 

Peter Golightly

Born in the US, where Peter Golightly started his performing career at Milwaukee Repertiry Theatre Company.
He has been well-known by the performance as a member of “Dumb Type” for 10 years,and after that,by
collaborations with many performing artists in Japan,such as Amon Miyamoto, Yasumasa Morimura, Eitetsu Hayashi,
Diamond Night Drag Review, etc.
After beeing awarded “outstanding performance prize” twice at Kobe International Dance Conpetition , he was
invited to NewYork International Fringe Festival" and performed "Smoke"in 2003.
In 1997, He established “Kyo-Ryu-Kan” in KYOTO,and since 1999, has organized “Kyo-Ryu-Kan Theater Company”.

 
     


Bun ITO

Bun Ito creates his unique soundscape with the "Warr Guitar" mainly using tapping and looping. His 1st album
"Road to Nowhere" released in 2005 was selected as a recommend disc by some music magazines such as “WIRE”(U.K.)
and “remix”.
Lately, in addition to the release of 1st album, he’s getting well-known by active co-staring with various artists not only
musicians but also projection artists, dancers, etc.
     
 

Jun Nishimura

Against the background of his long career as a composer and a keyboardist in the bands playing rock, pops and jazz, etc.,since 1999,
Jun Nishimura has turned his playing style from band form to solo performance with Laptop PC and synthesizer.
And, in addition to active live performances mainly in KYOTO, he has been evolving his work area into creating tracks and sound
effects for projection arts including animation movies.
